I started the project in 2013 for a Portraits 2 course in Venezuela. Being a teen and going through the complexity of that stage in life, I photographed my group of friends and myself in different social settings. I tried to express something that even I was unable to explain or understand correctly: the transition from childhood to adulthood.

My series of portraits vary from a rebellious teen trying the excesses of cigarette and alcohol for the first time, to the obligations in school.

The transition from being whom we were told to be to building our own identity is done during the teenage years, by discovering new things and understanding the world that surround us.

Transition is about my own search for identity.
